Apeda Registration

 

What is APEDA

Every person exporting scheduled products related to agricultural and processed food products is required to have APEDA registration. The person needs to apply for registration before the expiration of one month from the date of entering into export transaction. However, the department has discretion to extend the time limit on genuine cases. On successful scrutinizing of the application and payment of fees, the department issue the Registration cum Membership certificate (RCMC). The registration once done is valid for life time unless revoked by the department. The exporter is required to furnish without fail monthly returns of exports including Nil returns to the registering Authority by the 15th dayof the month following the month of export.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility of APEDA registration is applicable when:

  • There is an export transaction
  • Engaged in the business of export of agricultural and processed food products
  • The product falls under the scheduled product as listed by the Act

Documents Required

For Registration

  • IEC Certificate
  • Mobile Number
  • Email ID
  • Bankers certificate
  • Manufacturer Exporter should furnish copy of the registration of the company with the relevant certification agencies

Ans. It is the License issued by the department under APEDA Act. It is required when the person is intending to export scheduled products from India.
Ans. After successfully filing of all the required documents, it takes around 15-20 working days.
Ans. The APEDA License is granted for life-time. And there is no requirement of renewal of license. Whenever any changes made in the information provided at early stage, the same needs to be updated in the department record.
